The girl on a moving train

The girl on a moving train
leaving a city poor as she moves to the next

the darkness outside matched by her black eyes
and a white moon that shies away due to her sparkling smile

a blue scarf that makes her appear more reddish
a white strap on her hand
and a lone colorful bangle to make the rainbow complete

songs of birds and of a silent night
are no match for her sweet voice

a casual look turns into an attentive stare
among the moments of attraction that looks to seek through

I watch silently as she speaks of her peaceful life
and of her vivacious life, of her hope and of her dream
and listens my tales of small cities and younger childhood days

the silence of something amiss
of something not the same
of something less than love

the strangeness that comes after the sudden familiarity
and the eager shyness to seek attention

maybe we will meet again
maybe she would not be the same again
neither would i be amazed to see her again
among the countless moments of aimless affection

some months back...

A joyous ride on horse drawn carriage overooking the magnificent taj…some beloved time it was,
your laugh and your smile brightned my somnolent soul,
but then the moments in the black and yellow cab too were no less,
or the feeling of longingness on the volvo from pune to jaweri bazar;

exchanging of notes and something more in a dim lit atm, as i fervently wished it rained
and i leave myself in your hands on a not so empty local train
a whippy dog scares you as we play in one of those park
we say bye and soon the heart starts missing you

Walk with me

Within the time of life
we find ways to be alive

the path that we walk,
leave that to look up at the sky
for we may find stars to follow
or a shooting star to wish for

night comes for a new day
just like the present turns into the past
gone will be tomorrow what is today
for what was today became a distant yesterday

not possible to leave the world alive how hard we try
the inevitable sadness in life
a part of life, pretty hard to avoid

in between this death we live our life
and in midst of this we all laugh out loud

I bid adieu

a silent stare,a silent nod,
your hair slips even more silently.
black eyes sparkle like a silent star,
with the charm in your voice to do the rest.

a soul moves like a silent leaf,
like a caressing wave,
a weightless cloud,
on a rainy night.

moon lights makes it even more beautiful,
your eyes, your deep black eyes.

at their captivating best,
my soul surrenders itself
with a heavenly pleasure deep in heart.

in the light of the darkness that spreads between you and me
I smile at my innocent action and my feelings,
that are for you and because of you

sitting by some place and no one near,
my heart and me will have a talk,
sharing some thoughts and laugh out loud,
as we head back home with the smiling stars and
and a happy moon to show us through

I bid adieu to one and all,
to all those unnamed places,
and to all the pleasent time that i was with you...

P.S- Some people are born to cheat and some are born to deceit.
But there will always be people who will still smile and forgive them, and I am not one of them :)

Why...

Why do I walk the path that takes me to the destination I won’t go
Why I start with not so faltering steps only to stop and look back

why do I trample the flowers that I sowed with years of trust and love
and why do the flowers refuse to come to life again

why do I close my eyes choosing not to see the obvious
and why do I wish to dream the not so obvious

why does my heart plays truant with me
and why I ignore the brain which tries hard to stay with me

why have I to decide who and what is right
why have I to wonder and fear
and why have I to be fearless again

why can’t everything remain the same
the same moon, the same night
the same you the same me

I miss...

-->
The early morning days of being woken up by smiling mom,
The small walk to the bus stop accompanied by smiling dad

The bus ride to the imposing gates of the monster school
The clinging of bells, the voice of the teacher in specs

The sharing of foil wrapped maggi with a friend so close
The drinking of hot water from the bottle in blue

The last period and the smile on face so cute
The evening prayer and the bus queue

As I grow up, I miss those days in small shorts
heavy sweaters, caring teachers, and a play time that was always short

In came the 12th and we found the world too small
no more small walk, no more wake up calls

A world of friends and flames
an evening of hangout spots and watching birds

an age of dreams to weave
an age of expressing love that was deep

an age of flying aspirations,
of worldly flavors and neighbour hood inspirations

the demon that was 12th board
the angel that was the subsequent result

as I grow up, I miss those days of attendance and rules
a life with friends, concerned teachers
of merry time that will never come back again

Their loved one rest in peace

I don’t feel terrorized

neither I feel scared

The heart rending cry, the moist eyes

The fallen bodies, The broken hope

the blood on the streets

tell many a untold tales

the crying eyes of a girl

reveals the identity of one of the dead

a lady who was someone’s wife moments ago

wails for her now dead husband alone

the man who saw his family die

seeks the solace of the god up high

those who died will perhaps now go to sky

asking the almighty how many more before humanity dies

The memories of those who died

Will forever be in our mind

Who am I to question Raj ?

Who am i to question Raj
when even the Sarkar didn't have the courage to ask

might will prevail
rights will be trampled

why talk about democracy
lets enjoy Manus'cracy

equality, unbiasness are the words of weak
throw them aside for they are 'cheap'

enjoy the 9 percent growth
let the meek and weak rot

India will change is a dream to large
bound to be broken with the ranting of Raj

I beg forgiveness for the words above
coz the courage in me has finally gone

I add one more to those who are already dead
and we sleep till Jawahar's India awakes.

1. Raj- Mr.Raj Thackrey
2. Sarkar- Mr.Amitabh Bachhan
3. Jawahar- Mr.Jawahar Lal Nehru

Summer of 2001@ Jawahar

i got my first real six friends
met them in the corridors of jawahar
we played till we all got tanned
it was not the summer of 69'

me and some guys from school had a crush
and we tried real hard
Laad quit and VJ got beaten
they shud have known it will never get far

o when i look back now
that summer seems to last forever
and if I had a choice
I would always wanna be there
those were the best days of my life

ain't no use in complainin
when u got a job to do
got thrashed near Kasturba
and still we stood tall

dancing with u in Ranjeet's porch
my heart flew helter-skelter
and when it was time to say farewell
i knew it was now or never
those were the best days of my life
back in the summer of '01

now we are out of Bhopal and graduated
it's better to take you out of my mind
i guess nothing can last forever...forever

and now the times are changing
looking back at everything that's come and gone
sometimes i meet my friends and figure bout what went wrong
dancing with u in Ranjeet's porch
i shud have told i would be there forever
and when u held my hand i shud have known it was now or never
those were the best days of my life

oh yeah...

back in the summer of 01
that was the summer of 01...

Rain

The small water droplet falls from the grey sky
A lone streetlight illuminates the tiny bead

The highest leaves of the tallest tree
Spreads its arms for its wet friends

My mind wanders from one place to another;
Past becomes the present, and the future becomes so beautiful

gushing of kerwa
silence of upper lake
wet streets of VIP road
drenched couples
roads to college of excellence
ups and downs of Kaliyasot
trance of yesteryears so enthralling

Smell of the thirsty earth
Sound of a infant lightning
Coolness of the subtle breeze
same as they were when I first felt them years ago

past imprints become a traveling friend
with them I sail through the melodramatic mood
it rains...

Breeze

"Her hair like a pampered child
like a craving lover
was swaying on her face
touching her cheek, feeling the breeze
resting on her ears"

II

The Veiled purdah surrounded
the watery eyes
feelings found it hard to break away from the religious shackles

She climbed into the waiting metro
and was never seen again

Love so deep

,

My love for you can never die

You have been there always with me
Right through the days and the nights of moon gazing

I always fear what if my love is unfulfilled
Leaving me condemned to live even after death

I have remembered you whenever I can
Still the memory of you never fades

The pain that has been always there,
the rain that has always been there
both have now lost their feel, like the tide loses its.

Now I realize that we were never meant to meet
But we met, and you left, leaving me behind

The sorrows, the emptiness have given a new meaning to ‘life’
For love, like your memories has always been a friend of mine

How I always feel that what if this was a movie
We depart to meet again, never to part again

Sorrows and pains like bliss and happiness
Are so antonymous yet so synonymous

It Rained somewhere

In the mist of love that surrounds me
Like dews her memory drenches me
Far away in the land of love
I see us walking hand in hand

As the night grows darker, stars brighter
I see myself as the moon so bright, yet so dark
With so many stars, yet so alone
Her memories like the black sky engulfs me
And like the air, my eyes are soaked

(2)

So many emotions fluttering in my heart,
causing grief and sorrow of unfathomable proportion
Feelings are born and they die,
leaving me behind to bear so much pain
